Change Data Source or Data model and copy measures in Power BI

What problem are we solving today?
Change or switch the data model of an existing Power BI report to dataset / data model with another Power BI report along with measures.

If you are ever faced with a dilemma where you need to switch the data model of a Power BI report, and all you can find on the internet is to change data source by navigating to Options menu and selecting a new Source from there. Sometimes the need arise to copy not only the Data set but also all the Measures of report with another version or .pbix.

The steps are simple and straightforward. They involve opening the .pbix files with a compression utility or software and copying and pasting the needed DataModel file in the .pbix. Lets dive in.

Steps to Modify the Data Model:

1. Create backups for both Power BI files.
2. Use a program for opening compressed files, such as WinRAR, which can be downloaded here to open both Power BI files.

Open .pbix as zip
Open .pbix as a rar archive

3. Then copy the DataModel File from one .pbix file and paste on to the other .pbix by deleting or overriding the existing DataModel file with this new copied one.

4. Close out the Zip File explorer software windows.

5. Test your .pbix file now by opening it in Power BI the usual way to see if all the Measures and Data model has migrated successfully.

And Viola! you are done. How simple was this?!

I wish Microsoft adds the ability to do this in Power BI someday.
